The race is in the afternoon at the Grand Geneva Resort. This allows for check in to the hotel and time to get to the location. They also offer discounted room rates, which I recommend since the party goes pretty late. The race itself isn't the most exciting 5-mile race. Usually if it has snowed within the past few days, you can guarantee you'll be running on snow packed roads. The route is basically running down a county road and then back to the start. The best part about this race is the after party, which is all included in your entry fee. Once you finish you hurry inside where there is a hallway, lined with trays of Schnop shots. Once you've had your fill of that, you go into the forum. There you get a dinner, which is usually just a burger and a few sides. Also, it's all you can drink beer until 8pm. Most people shower quick and come back to the party. There's door prizes and dancing. Always a fun race to look forward to, or at least a fun after party.
