This was my first even race out in the Pacific Northwest! What better way to see the city and enjoy the fall colors! A friend of mine decide he wanted to run his first half marathon and I told him I would make sure he made it to the finish line!

The race starts downtown Portland, near the Square, head uphill for about 3 miles where you find some amazing views of the river, before you head downhill for the next 3 miles! Then it's back through town for the second half of the race! The only reason I gave Course Scenery a 4 is that after running the amazing bluffs, the course sends you out and back in an industrial area for the back half of the race. If I wanted to run industial parks, I can do that at home!

Overall, fun and well organized race. The majority of those running get into teh spirit and run in costume and some of the costumes were definetly creative... we even saw someone wearing and inflatable horse costume running the half! Oh yeah, and I think I found Waldo 5 times!
