It is definitely geared towards half marathoners. After the split, the course heads north towards a small airport. It's very dark and uninteresting. The course starts on the strip, runs through Fremont street and then to more residential areas before coming back to the strip. The half course hits this highlights without the boring scenes. However, I loved the race. It was flat and cool. Not a lot of crowd support after the half but the other runners were great. My favorite part is that I could see the finish hotel for almost a mile. It helped me to stay focused. I'd love to run it again.
