Michelle 's thoughts:

This is one of those fun races that includes our local baseball team! The Riverdogs Run Forrest Run 5k starts out in front of the baseball stadium and finishes on home plate.

The course is pretty easy. The downfall is that it will likely be extremely hot and humid, as is any race that you do during this time in Charleston, SC. The course takes you around hampton park and back up and along the water before you come in around the back side of the stadium, coming through to first base and finishing at home plate. The players are there to greet you with a high five when you finish.

Your entry fee includes your t-shirt, race, post race dinner which is usually catered by a local restaurant, and all the bud light you could drink. You also get a ticket to the baseball game that follows the race.

I've done this race for a few years now and I really think it's worth the money mainly because you get a ticket into the event. The dinner is always really good. One year we had wraps/sandwiches + Chips + apples. One year we had pasta dishes, salad, and bread. They have a beer station set up that allows you to have as much beer as you want as well.

There are really nice awards for top 3 overall male/female winners. Top 3 in each age group usually get a nice award too. One year we received really nice wood plaques with the baseball teams logo on it, two years ago we got pink baseball bats, and last year we got medals.

The baseball stadium has fun stuff like jump castles for the kids, delicious food for purchase, more beer, and games. My family always joins in for this race and we make a great afternoon out of it. The race is always held around 4pm on a Saturday evening.
