Michelle 's thoughts:

This is absolutely the best series event in the Charleston area. Race the landing is a series of 5 races throughout the summer starting in May and ending in July on Thursday nights. If you sign up for all 5 races, you get 1 of them for free. There are so many amazing things I could say about this race, let me try and keep it simple.

The view: This race takes place in beautiful Charlestowne Landing park. It is absolutely gorgeous park!

The race: This is put on by some fantastic people. They know exactly what runners like. There is multiple aid stations along the course and volunteers to help direct you, if needed. The course is a full of turns so it isn't exactly a race that you are going to necessarily PR but it is an absolutely gorgeous course that is fairly flat. (there is one teeny tiny hill after the 2 mile mark)

Swag: If you sign up for the entire series you get a great technical shirt with the race logo on it. Each race you get a special gift too if you are one of the first 200 there. One week I got a tumbler cup, one week I got socks, one week was a runners light band.

Awards: There are finishers medals for everyone at every race. Each race has a different theme too so the awards are different each week. Awards go 5 deep in 5 year age groups which means almost everyone walks out with some awesome awards. One week our award was a large wooden sword.

Post race celebration: Every week is a different food theme and dinner & beer is included. Dinner usually consists of a choice of two different meats (example: Pulled pork or hamburgers), there are usually 2-3 sides like mac and cheese, cole slaw, or rice. There is usually a bread of some sort to go with it too. They are accomdating in that there is always a vegetarian and vegan option. Every runner also gets a beer from a different local brewery each week. Extra drink and food tickets are available as well.

There is also a kids run where the kids get medals as well. So this race is fun for the entire family.

Lastly, there is a great photographer who comes and does pictures of the runners which are beyond amazing quality.
