Maureen 's thoughts:

Why you should do this race:
-Plenty of parking
-Race day packet pickup
-Cool course along the lakefront in Milwaukee
-Bacon aid station
-Bacon-themed food at the end
-Fast and flat course
-Cute cotton shirts that will become your new favorite shirt
-Did I mention bacon?!

The bacon aid station is the coolest thing ever. (Yes, they have water as well!) But when do you get a tasty, salty bacon snack halfway through a race?! It's magical. When you finish the race, you get a snack box full of bacon snacks - this year there was a cookie, fruit salad, sandwich, potato salad, and chips. You also get a Sprecher beer, and get to listen to live music while you wait.

The line for packet pickup was insane (they offer race day as an option, which I always appreciate), and the race director immediately promised to rectify it for last year. Chris Ponteri puts on other races in the Milwaukee area, and he does a tremendous job. I highly recommend his races!

But mostly this one. Because BACON.
