Race is fast, flat and waterside for much of the race. Strong sponsorship from Fitteam and Jupiter Medical Center insure that this race will be first-class as you would expect from the Palm Beaches! "Come for the Race but Stay for the Party" with fireworks post race (5K) on Friday night and pre-race concert and fireworks Saturday night to get you pumped for Sunday morning's half or Full Marathon! Kate 's thoughts:

The Palm Beach Marathon is a nice community race in a lovely area of West Palm Beach, Florida. It's held in December to avoid some of the heat but, don't forget, it's South Florida, and it'll be humid and once the sun comes up, it'll be hot.

The swag - I wear the bright yellow EAU Palm Beach Marathon shirt all the time. It's a nice tech-T

The course - not difficult. It's mostly flat. The year I ran it, the half marathon and marathon started together which made it incredibly difficult to pace. I went out a bit fast because the half marathoners did. This may have changed, check with the marathon site. The scenery was okay - through some neighborhoods and then Downtown West Palm Beach where all the crowds were, through more neighborhood, then on the coast. I do wish we got to go into Palm Beach Proper! But being along the water at all was great.

The people - there were around 350 runners for the marathon. Not big and not too competitive. It's nice if you're trying to beat other people. The atmosphere in the marathon was fine, though I didn't talk with many other runners after I split off from the half because it thinned out a bit.

Aid stations - Water and electrolyte drinks. There were a few porta potties along the course too, which I don't usually notice.

Medal in pic - it's a heavy one! Post race celebrations were very nice, it felt like a community experience. They had some vendors there and some snacks and little swag for those hanging out at the finish. The area of the finish is great though because there are SO MANY restaurants around it you can go off and eat anything.

The event itself was very nicely well organized. I'm glad I ran the race and might again one day but the humidity and heat got to me a little bit because I just wasn't well trained in those conditions.
