Nina 's thoughts:

This race, being just over a month after the Broad Street Run, is advertised to fit in perfectly to an extended training cycle. It did at that. However, if you're not used to running in the heat and humidity, this may not be the race for you. The weather was perfect for the first 2-3 miles, but super hot and humid by the finish.

It was a smaller race, so there were no organized corals. The race organizers just instructed runners to line up where they felt they should begin, which worked out fine. The course was very pretty, and I saw many parts of Fairmont Park that I've never seen before. However, it was VERY hilly. The final hill (in mile 12) was a killer, most runners stopped to walk at this point. Other than that, the aid stations were good, and the SWAG was great- one of my favorite race t-shirts and medals. The expo was at a bowling alley, but wasn't anything special. There were very few vendors, so I was in and out. The parking at the actual race was very easy, there was a lot of street parking close to the start/finish area.

Overall, I'd recommend this race if you're looking for a smaller, summertime half, and have been hill training!
