Bradford Zinnecker's thoughts:

The Mendon Trail Run is an old fashioned fall trail race. It is in the Mendon Ponds Park where I have run before several times. The course takes in much of an esker trail which gives one the feeling of constant rolling hills and being up higher than you actually are. The course is around a 6 mile loop with lots of elevation change. The trees were golden as you can see in the pics on my website: http://trailrunningfaith.blogspot.com/2016/12/2016-racing-season-mendon-trail-run-20k.html

There isn't a lot of fanfare with this race, but there is a lot of community. It's put on by the local orienteering group, included lots of local runners, and had a home grown feel to it. There wasn't any swag, the cost was decent, and the day was great. Plenty of parking, a well marked course, plenty of food and drink at the aid stations, lots of volunteers, all in a gorgeous park on a beautiful fall day running through the woods.

This is one not to miss at the end of the season.
