Race Management
This was my 4th year running the Meitar Night Race, and I had a riot. There is a chill small town feel to the race, and was generally well-managed by Sportweb. Nothing ostentatious about it. no expo, modest trophies/medals, a challenging course (hills). I felt my race was slow, but a 3rd overall and 1st in category say otherwise. My sons ran the 5 and the 10k, and really enjoyed it. The only serious complaint I have was about on-course directions. Those of us in the lead group had a momentary crisis when the course direction was unclear. The young fellow who was supposed to direct runners was staring at his phone (argh) I felt really bad for the lead runner who took a wrong turn; he later rejoined us, and went on to win the race, but the psychological toll that would take on most runners would be devastating.
