Tedrick Kelly's thoughts:

In 2015 I ran my first full marathon and it happened to be the Marine Corps Marine. This race is not known as the "people's race" for nothing, it more than lives up to its name. Let's start with the expo, it was probably the biggest and best expo I have seen so far and the merchandise was 2nd to none. With this being my first full marathon, I was really nervous but those nerves soon disappeared once the race started. I had never seen so much crowd support, there were people lined up on the course for the full 26 miles. The held signs, did cheers and gave out lots of high-fives to help support all the runners. Running past all the monuments was also a welcomed sight that made the run a little easier. There were plenty of restrooms and numerous stations throughout the course supplying water, gels, doughnuts and even shots of fireball(21 and up ;-) ). The course takes you through several popular areas and you don't encounter any huge hill throughout. I guarantee you will love this race, which is the reason why it is so hard to get in. The race has even brought some famous people out; Oprah Winfrey has run it in the past and Sarah Palin actually ran it in 2015. If you can get into this race, don't hesitate...DO IT!
