Held on the idyllic island of the capital of The Bahamas, Nassau, which is immersed in history, natural charm, beauty, white-sand beaches, aquamarine waters and hospitable and welcoming residents, Marathon Bahamas has become the pre-eminent endurance event of the country.

The event features runners from 19 countries and 31 states and is supported by a large volunteer contingent from every walk of Bahamian life.

William Brent's thoughts:

Highlights: Great Race Management

Price: The price is good for the distance. Even with the cost to get to the race (had it been in person) I think this is a good value. I don't know if the virtual option was worth the same price as the in person, but one of the things which attracted me to the race was how much of the proceeds go to charity. All in all it's on par with other races.

Quality: With this being a virtual race, its difficult to talk about parking, elevation, crowds. The race used a third party app to cheer runners and play music which was nice. The app kept prompting me for a language (text to speech) which was bothersome. I think with having to pivot from a live event to a virtual event they did a good job of engaging some creative resources.

Race Management: Very communicative. Very proactive. Very helpful.
I wasn't pelted with emails daily or weekly but there was appropriate communications. The closer the race day came, the more the communication I receive.

Swag: Its about the same as most races. A shirt a medal. The nylon sport bag was a nice addition.
Not going to lie, it was really exciting to open the package when it arrived!

I am actually really hoping to do this race in person. The race did a great job of engaging runners on social and hyping the race that way. The race benefits a great cause.
