Kati 's thoughts:

Overall I loved this race! It was magnificent! I’ll definitely do it again next year and I highly recommend this race!

Pros –
• I loved the outdoor component of the race expo! I made everything seem more cheerful.
• I also loved the racerback tank instead of a short sleeve shirt.
• I really liked that the pre/post race festivities were held literally on Columbus Drive instead of in the park on the itchy, bug-infested, dirty grass.
• LAUREN FLESHMAN.
• The race start was easily accessible via EL or driving.
• I wasn’t expecting to enjoy running on the Mag Mile as much as I did. It was pretty neat to have it shut down so we could run – they don’t even do that for the marathon! I know some were disappointed we didn’t get to run more on Michigan Ave. but from my understanding, (1) the area of Michigan Ave. that we got to run on is what’s considered the Magnificent Mile and (2) that’s about the distance we got to run on it…. a mile or so, thus, no major surprise there that we didn’t get to spend more time on it.

Cons –
• The race course wasn’t available until a few days prior to the race. I like to study the course so this didn’t leave me much time.
• I most likely completely spaced out during the run and missed it but I didn’t notice the Luna fuel that was supposed to be provided around mile 6.5. I always carry my own gels/chews and wasn’t actually impacted by this but had I forgotten my fuel I would’ve been in trouble.
• No chocolate milk at the finish line! (Now I’m just getting nit-picky!)
