Come January 28, all eyes will be on the main event - the Miami Marathon & Half Marathon. Come out and explore all the wonderful things that make Miami famous. The Miami Marathon & Half Marathon takes you through the streets of Miami starting in front of the Miami Heat arena, to scenic Miami Beach, through the Wynwood art district and back to mainland Miami for a grand finish in the lovely downtown bay area.

Every year, we pay tribute to the star of the show — the course. Runners count on the course to pull them through each mile, and every year this route doesn’t let them down. Mile after mile, the beautiful views help propel runners to the finish line. Be on the lookout for sights that you might recognize from a hit TV show or movie - many of those hot spots are actually part of this incredible course!

Friends, family and curious spectators will fill the roadways with inspiring sights and sounds to cheer on the many that choose to RUN MIAMI! Register today to ensure your #MiamiFamous moment as we kick off 2018 with this spectacular event. It's #NotMiamiWithoutYou!

John 's thoughts:

I ran in the coldest Miami Marathon ever! It was around 45 degrees at the start but a strong wind made it feel colder at times. Still it's one of my favorite races on my calendar and I just love being down there. Two changes from the past runnings. One being the expo being moved from Miami Beach to the Mara Wynwood in the art district of Miami. I thought there was less room to walk around at the location but not a big deal. Second change is the course. Back and forth on the MacArthur Causeway. There are 2 challenging inclines one way so with the new course you had 4. The last one at mile 10 into a headwind just killed my score. I looked at that incline and said nah not today. The course overall is the most scenic I've ran and it is pretty cool to start a race before the sun is up and watch it rise as you run. Start (corrals with wave starts) and finish went very smooth. Post race was a lot of fun with a beer garden, music, food stands etc. The spinning medal is always cool, but the shirt emphasized the word 'famous' instead of Miami. Have no idea why. And as an extra bonus a hockey team I root for, the Florida Panthers were home for 2 games this weekend. Of course I was at both games and they won them convincingly!
If haven't run this race yet do so in 2017. I will see you there!
