Due to the awful weather conditions and wind warnings here in Chicago, I chose to do the virtual 5k instead of risking it. I have RA and for me, “braving” it out on the slick streets in 50mph winds in downtown Chicago wasn’t safe nor did it sound pleasurable.

I do like the swag, the jacket is great. I didn’t get a hat with my packet pick:( that left me sad.
Packet pickup at Navy Pier was a hot mess. Between fighting traffic, paying almost $30 bucks for parking, going in and getting my stuff and leaving…I wish ventures endurance would do their packet pickups on different days at different locations, or race day for a fee. I didn’t want to have my bib mailed to me as I had a not so good experience in the past, that was my choice.
I would recommend the race to anyone looking for a fun morning run, I like that they have an option for everyone (5k, 10k, 15k, and run walk), including virtual.
Fingers crossed next year’s race has better and safer weather conditions!!!
