While not one of the major turkey trots in the city/suburbs, this small 5k does a good job of managing a 5k along the path. The actual race was an L-shaped out-and-back and started around Museum Campus and headed north to Monroe. It snaked around Grant Park during the last mile, finishing at the same spot. This is a very flat, fast course with good crowd support and aid station(s). My wife and I left pretty much right after so I can't comment on the postrace festivities. My only real complaint was the packet pick-up. This took place in the Road Runner Sports store on Kingsbury. It was greatly understaffed by All Community Events (Not RRS's fault). RRS did a great job of keeping the line moving and even handed out coupons for the wait (we've always had good experiences there). If you're looking for a small 5k after Thanksgiving - give this one a shot!
