DC Comic and Superhero fans unite! This race series is one for the fans. The overall race was directed to those fans and the novelty was quite unique. LOTS of people dressed in costumes, fun music, and excellent pre-race entertainment to start. The race management was very laid back so if you are serious about racing and looking for something competitive you might want to check out other races, this was more of a fun run with chip timing. There was plenty of race day parking available as the park is already used to accommodating plenty of people. There were only a handful of porta pottys so be sure to plan ahead. The race packet pick-up line was a little backed up for those who arrived with less than a half hour before the race started so I would recommend getting there plenty early or picking up your packet ahead of time. The race swag was excellent and included a dry fit superhero t-shirt and superhero specific wrist bands. The aid stations and post-race cups were reusable which was a nice change up from having plastic cups everywhere. The race course was flat and although the majority of the course was around the park in the parking lot or on the backside of the park where the spare parts were kept. At times it did go through the main sections of the park which was fun and nostalgic. Post race refreshments and photo opportunities were available and there were lots of photographers around. Overall a fun race and would recommend to anyone looking for a novelty race and especially for those DC comic fans!
