So in 2014 or 2015 I first noticed this run and wanted to do it, but I had been unable to do it due to various reasons.
I realized about 3 weeks ago that the race was coming up and I decided the time was now. Was I in any short of shape to train to run for 6hr in 3 weeks no, my longest runs had been about 10 miles, but I decided to sign up anyways.
There are several events, a 5k, 6hr solo run, 6 hour relay, 12 hour solo run, and 24 hour run. I will say the relay looked like more fun, but last minute is hard to put together a team.
Different distances start at different times, the 6hr event started at midnight.
Then event is a 1 mile loop in a park near the High School.
Set is an area for tents along the on hill you run up( on every loop), I didn't bring a tent and wish I would have especially because it started raining at the end.
Your wear a chip that counts your loops, only full loops count.
They had a aid station set up where you cross the line to count your chips.
the aid stations had pretty much everything you could want, and they varied the food every few hours. PIzza came at midnight, pancakes came at 6am.
Its not how long you run, but how many laps you complete that determines the age group awards.
Swag is your choice, they have t-shirts, water bottles, hats, winter hats, and a few more things. How many swag items you get was determined by when you sign up.
Course Scenery: was fun, the path can be dark and was lite with christmas lights and christmas blow ups, christmas music was playing, and many people decorated their tents.
I definitely want to do this event again, but be in shape to run the entire time, and maybe find a few people to do the relay with.
