Sean 's thoughts:

This race is approaching its 19th anniversary and it is an event I am glad to have participated in for a number of years. The race size tends to be about 250 people, which gives it a very welcoming feel. The best part of the race is that it supports local high school cross country runners with college scholarships. In a sport that doesn't attract the largest number of fans, support from the community is greatly appreciated.

The course itself is fairly hilly out-and-back following the main streets throughout the town of Butler. Aid stations are evenly spread out and volunteers are very supportive. The race shirt is simple with any swag being sponsored by local businesses.

The main challenge with the race due to its location is that parking is a little bit of a challenge. With street parking serving as the primary means, a person may need to park further away and walk a bit to reach the starting line.
