Back in the day when running races were not so popular, this race was a BLAST. The idea of having a theme for running was simply not readily existent in the running community. One thing you could be sure on is the the Bastille Day 5K would put on a good show .
The course was flat, starting in Greek Town and heading west for a tour of the neighborhood, that was then not so developed, and back to the Greek Town. The swag was as expected and the race organization was at the time exceptional.
The party at the end was incredible to have once completing the race. Although it was to celebrate the great French Bastille Day in Greek Town, no one seemed to have cared. The French were freed in the uprising of "The Storming of the Bastille" against King Louis 16th and the Celebration would continue into the night. Chicago knew how to throw a party for this race. Its definitely one to remember
