Bradford Zinnecker's thoughts:

The Midsummer Night's Madness Trail Half (see my further review here: http://trailrunningfaith.blogspot.com/2017/12/2017-racing-season-midsummer-nights.html) is a great local race just outside of Rochester, NY in Mendon Ponds Park. The trails here are great and I got to explore some new areas of the park in this race. It was a 3 leaf clover race, meaning you went out and did 3 small loops totaling up to the distance. This made it very convenient for refueling every few miles at the main start/finish area. Plenty of people on hand to help and lots of goodies at the aid stations. Course runs up/down, along eskers, through the woods, and even a bit of mud. It wasn't too hot this day, though it definitely could be this time of day this time of year. Only real bummer was that they were unable to get a liquor license for the event, so the craft beer fell through. Otherwise, another great trail race in W NYS.
