Signing up for the race online was really easy. It was the first link when you goggled the race. The entire process took maybe 3-4 minutes and you got a nice confirmation email after you finished signing up. The race coordinators also sent out a few reminders leading up to the race about parking, the course, and the expo.
The expo was really nice it had several large companies selling discounted gear (including but not limited to Sweaty Bands and SkirtSport). They also had quite a few local races there to offer discounted registration. The line was empty when I got there in the middle of the day to pick up my packet. They also had a place to try on swag and exchange it if it didn't fit. They offered refreshments (hot chocolate) and marshmallows.
On race day they had Zumba as a warm up, which worked great, but since I was in the back of the coral it didn't help me keep warm while I was waiting for the race to start.
The course wasn't particularly hilly, but it was really nice. They had one water station with Gatorade and water at the station. There was also one at the finish line. The course was very well marked and sectioned off and the break between the 5k and 15k was very clear.
The race was well staffed and had volunteers all over the course making sure no one got let behind and they offered encouragement. At the finish line there was a goodie "cup" pick up with chocolate fondu, a wafer, a bag of pretzels, a banana, and a sanitizing wipe for your hands.
