I have run it 4 different years now and I keep going back for more! It is a party weekend and to be a runner makes you even more a part of it.
Each year I get the goose bumps as the gun goes off and thousands of runners run up the initial hill. It is always hot and they have sprinklers throughout the course! Including a slide n'slide or two! The final downhill in to the finish line is the best feeling. Challenging course and always a blast! Don't forget about the free beer, ice cream and snacks at the finish!!

I have run this race twice and they were both amazing! The race starts downtown Minneapolis at the Metrodome (near there now) and winds through the city. You then run around/by all of the chain of lakes. These lakes are gorgeous and have tons of spectators cheering near by. After the lakes the course brings you along the river and leads you to St. Paul. Although the river way is hilly, it is a great feeling to be entering city #2! The entire course is lined with people cheering, bundled up and having a great time. And you can't forget the wonderful fall colors! The best race!

I did the Ultra Ragnar and had an absolute blast! The course starts North and goes south to downtown Phoenix. A lot of the course is through desert.... definitely a mental strain, but nice change of scenery from the midwest! The day runs were around 85 degrees and night runs around 30, so lots of clothes were needed. Saw a coyote or two and thankfully no snakes. Such a fun race! I would do it again in a heart beat.

Gorgeous course! Very hilly for a half marathon. It was run well and enjoyed it, but it's one of those courses where those who are doing a full marathon start at the same time, they just continue on and the 1/2 people turn around. Mentally frustrating and hard to determine your pace against other runners.
