Swag was a bit of a let down, as we just got a buff instead of some of the nice shirts they have given out in previous years. It felt like they cheaped out this way, even if the expense was still comparable.
This was my first time running UBHM, and I was super disappointed when the course got changed about a month out from race day. Usually this race runs through one of the prettiest parks in Louisville. And even though it's hilly, I would have preferred that nicely paved park to some of the treacherous potholed paths we ended up on. I know this had to do with the COVID protocol and availability of police officers to block roads, but it was a still a major disappointment. I plan to hold my personal judgement of the course until experiencing the real course next year.
The after party was great. Lots of free food and drinks. It's an awesome perk to the registration fee to get that. If you don't drink, there are still lots of free food options (pizza and burgoo) so don't think it's not for you!
