Pre-race: Expo was held outside, with race merchandise for sale. Easy to park and get in/out.
Race: I felt like the execution of the rolling wave start went well and felt safe. Everyone kept their masks on prior to the race start as well.
Course: I'm partial to coastal runs, so I never grew bored with the scenery as the course ran almost entirely along the coast, in fact, I thought it was beautiful. I liked that you could see the upcoming rest stops on the horizon, as each rest stop had porta potties positioned near them. The water stops were run to perfection, even during a pandemic! Even on a warm and humid morning they were fully stocked. Because of the pandemic we would have to grab the cups off the tables, which worked out better than I thought it would. There were always plenty available. The only part I didn't care for was running onto the highway for the last few miles. That was dreadful (and the only hills of the entire course). There were mile markers which were visible from afar, and course distance was spot on.
Post race: The finish line was great, even though we didn't get to finish inside the ball park or have the usual post race party experience this year. The medal was gorgeous.
The town of Biloxi is a lot of fun! Even though we had to spend all our time outdoors the weather allowed for that to happen, which was great! Just be prepared for the humidity!
