I ran the race in December 2020, at a time when live races are just beginning to return and I thought the race was incredibly well-managed, made me feel safe and was alot of fun. Would recommend to all and may well do it again.
The race runs essentially all along the scenic Mississippi Gulf Coast, starting in Pass Christian, running through Gulfport and ending in Biloxi. The course is flat and beautiful. And, even though it's all along the water, because you go through a few towns, there is scenery to look at and keep it interesting.
The expo was very small this year, with COVID restrictions, and the after-party was similarly limited (but enthusiastic and still fun).
As for COVID, the race team did a great job. Masks required at all locations except while running and there was near 100% compliance. The start was rolling with a 4 wide, 6 feet apart start that kept people separated and got us moving. Really well-done. The water spots mostly had volunteers in gloves and masks which impressed me.
And, while we had a significant headwind this year, the course, being flat, is pretty fast and was fun to do. This should be on everyone's list.
