It's been awhile since I ran this one, and it was slightly tainted by some digestive issues on my part...HOWEVER...I remember this being a great race in that I really got to see the sites of Chicago while I was running it! It was insanely hot the year I did it (hello summertime), but they even had a cold water aid station with sponges to wring out over your head! I'd definitely do this race again.

I've run this race in both 2012 and 2013. It is a great race from the way it is run to the actual event! I recommend staying in a hotel near the start/finish, as Atlanta parking and traffic is renowned for difficulty. For some reason, I didn't realize quite how hilly the city was until the day before the race...so it's definitely not flat! I hope to run this one again soon!

I ran this race in it's second year, and it went out to North Charleston which wasn't the most scenic. I hear it's better these days, and it's a nice flat course! Recommend the shrimp and grits at the end if they're still doing that! Things have changed a lot since I ran it. Charleston is a little chilly in January, especially if there is a breeze blowing, but ever few years it may be warm. Hard to prep for the weather!
