I chose the first half of the SF Marathon last year to be my very first half marathon. The race took place the day before my birthday, which made it particularly significant to me. It was absolutely one of my favorite races I've ever run, with stunning scenery. The first half begins at the ferry building and winds along the Embarcadero, Ft Mason, the marina, Crissy Field and up across the Golden Gate, back down through the Presidio and into Golden Gate Park. It was a huge challenge, but one I tackled. I will never forget the moment I crossed the finish line -- achieving something I NEVER in a million years thought I could do. The tears flowed, I admit it! This year I am back to run the 2nd half marathon, and I am so excited.
