Fast downhill BQ race that starts in beautiful Ojai, California and works its way down to the Pacific Ocean in Ventura. This is a downhill course that weaves through a valley, there is a lot of scenery and dropping down next to the beach is a highlight of course.

This race is full of people who are trying to get their Boston Qualifier time, so if you are running anything past 4:30 marathon time, the support along the way really thins out. There is not a lot of spectators, but the views make up for that.

The finish line is a huge party with people hitting a gong for their BQS and PRs. Lots of people jumping right into the ocean because it is literally steps from the finish line.

This is a community driven holiday run that is flat and fast through the streets of Oxnard and ending at the Channel Islands Harbor. What I liked most is the snacks and energy at the race start and the festive costumes and energy during the race.

Small hometown feel, the water stations are ran by community members so it makes it a lot of fun when you come in to fuel.

This year was a little damp with some rain but that didn't stop the people from dressing up and getting out there.
