Thus was my first time doing this event. I did the 10k lat year and I will tell you the half was much better for scenery.
The only thing was a mile marker in the wrong place, but the course was nice because it started in town, ran along the river, then on a trail for a bit and also on the road, so you really got to experience a lot of different scenery.
The after party is good, the only thing I wish was different would be if there was something other than beer, not all runners like beer. The food at the end is fruit, protein bars, kolaches, breakfast burritos, pretzel rolls and beer. They ran out of the collector cups, and there wasn't bottled water, so that is odd to me.
The medals are all handmade locally and are different each year, which I absolutely love! The shirt is always super soft and comfy.
This event is one that I plan to make an annual event!
