first time night race event. parking was a mess, closed down main street to get into the smaller residential area, so had to loop through the downtown shops and back into the neighborhood to find parking. very warm humid day even at the start of the race. did not enjoy running through the bbq/bonfire smoke midway through the race. course was out and back along PCH, didnt really get to enjoy the views since i was focused on racing. could have used more water aid stations and lights on the course. i did not like having to weave through the 5k/10k runners. race organizers need to arrange so the slower runners stay one side of the course. enjoyed the expo; lots of free goodies. finish time 59:06

third time racing this event. always good weather this time of year. parking is around residential area, so it can get difficult if you show up late. no finisher medal BUT you do get your choice of either ss or ls shirt with their cool mb design AND FREE great quality race photos. you do get a medal if you place top10 in your age group. this can be a challenging course at the halfway point; some gradual hills, but the main one is with 2miles to go, it's a grueling uphill. but get past that and it's all downhill and flat when you finish the the strand/bike path towards the pier. great atmosphere along the course as you have locals and patrons along the course. lots of vendors and free goodies post race. finish time 35:08

nice summer race to change up the pace from the long summer training sessions. parking can become a hassle if you show up late. very fast course. lots of high school kids run this event. brought me back to when i used to run in high school. i enjoyed the post race festivities. lots of refreshments and the music was fun. finish time: 16:52

first time running this event. i feel it was well organized. lots of vendors post race, and the volutneers and great handing out refreshments. one thing i would change is the starting area, and allow the faster runners to start first. course starts by the mall and runs through the arboretum, and finishes back on the dirt race track. finish time 17:29
