19th Grandma's completed, poor training caused by asthma and life resulted in a slow race but I loved every minute.

The expo was crowded again this year which is normal for Grandma's. You have to walk through it to get to packet pickup. The spaghetti dinner was good as well. Having done it so many times, I take the organization of everything for granted but everything is first class.

For 2019, we had a perfect race day, temp in the low 50's and a breeze at our back. The course is rolling hills, none that are too steep so it's a reasonably fast course. Lake Superior was awesome to look at again. Although you only see the lake sporadically throughout the race. The first 18+ miles are along the lake, running down old Hwy 61. Then you turn into Duluth and finish in Canal Park. Good crowd support when you get to Duluth and along Hwy 61 but only where roads come into the old Hwy. Run it and you will know what I mean.

A very well organized event, good entertainment at the finish, the only complaint is the price for hotels, book ahead as the Duluth and Two Harbor hotels all fill up and have a two night minimum.
