I am nursing an injury in my right foot. I had postponed this race last year - which is another great benefit: you can postpone 1 year if needed - so I decided to give it a shot and hope my foot would cooperate... I’m glad I did! The race is well organized and the course is soooo beautiful :) It starts really early (6:00 am), which works wonderful for me because I don’t enjoy to run in hot weather. It has lots of shaded areas too and there were cowboys, a gentleman playing piano in the middle of a farm, wonderful scenery, horses, plenty of people leaving sprinklers out for the runners, every single mile was marked and the aid stations had plenty of water and Gatorade. The Energy Gel sometime around the 8 mile was perfect! The course is so flat that my foot is no worse than when I started the race and I will definitely go back to attempt a PR for the full marathon.

The Expo was small, but nice and right next to a summer market. It was fun to enjoy the music, food, arts and crafts: all right next to the Expo. Free taping/massage sessions during the Expo and for $20.00 you could also sign up for a post race massage.

Food after the race was also great: a free beer, pasta salad, watermelon, bananas, bagels, cookies, nuts and a natural fruit popsicle!

Nice and friendly small town: easy to navigate.
