I love this 10k! I sign up for it every year, and have been for the last 5 years. I try and run longer distances if I can, but if I can get my family involved in running, this is the race to do it. It winds through Boulder neighborhoods, and there is nothing but support from the crowds the entire way! People come out of their homes to watch the runners go by, there are live bands on almost every corner, and plenty of aid stations and porto-potties. I 100% recommend this race to anyone. My brother is not a runner at all, and he is on year 2 of completing it. He said at one point it felt like a giant party and he forgot about how far he was running. You get to finish at CU Boulder's stadium where you run around the warm up track to the finish. Just the best experience I have at a race every year!
Parking: we always leave the house early and park in a nearby neighborhood to the start line and walk over. I have never had a problem.
Packet: I had mine mailed to me as I work a traditional schedule and don't want to drive to pick up.
Course: fairly flat with some hills.

Ran this race, as one of my goals is one marathon per state. My friends also live here, so it was easy to have a place to stay.
Parking: I didn't park. My friend dropped me off at the DC Armory where there was a shuttle to take the runners to the start line. The metro wasn't open until 7 am, the race start time.
Expo: It was pretty great. Easy to navigate, and all of the volunteers were very friendly.
Aid Stations: Available every 2 miles. Did see a lot of porto-potties too.
Course: It was hilly with some rough spots. The streets may need to be repaved as there were some spots with pot holes. Didn't like some of the out and backs.
Overall, it was a good race. It was about 32-36 degrees the entire race. It is also humid, so I think I felt the cold more. I am from CO, so not used to humidity. At the end, the after race party was nice. They did hand out pizza slices for the runners. I think this was my one and done with this race.

I loved this marathon more than most here in Colorado. There aren't very many local marathons, other than the Colfax marathon, and this one was great in comparison. Wonderful scenery, easy-ish route with some major uphills, but overall very enjoyable. Since this is a smaller, local race, the course was not very well marked out. There were volunteers at some of the turns, but were easy to miss. They did mark some of the sidewalks with spray painted arrows, but again, easy to miss.

The Rock-n-Roll Vegas is a been there done that kind of race for me. I am not a night runner, so this race was particularly hard for me. My husband and friends went with me for this race and they had a blast. They weren't running. The course was mapped out ok, but for the marathon runners there were some bad spots to run in. There was a part in the race where we looped around some old warehouses and then ran back to the strip through some dark streets. It also had a point where we ran in circles in some empty parking lot. I love Rock-n-Roll series, I feel they are always very organized, and to be 100% fair, there was a shooting a few weeks prior to this race and the race administrators had to scramble to find a new start line. Overall it was a good time, but I wouldn't do it again.
