I've run this twice now, I did it the first year in 2016, and in 2018 I ran the relay. The course changed slightly between those 2 races, but it was mostly the same. This race is called the Mushroom Cap because Kennett Square has been called the 'Mushroom Capital'. So your medals looks like mushrooms, and the winners receive locally grown mushrooms.

Hills. If you like hills, go you, you'll like this race. If you don't like hills, you can stop reading now. This race runs the mostly paved roads around Kennett Square, PA. The Scenery is beautiful, you're going to get several horses and probably some cows staring at you while you run. Some of the roads are back roads, so sometimes it's gravel rather than paved, and sometimes when it's paved it might not be even.

The course support is amazing for this race. There's water at every mile, and sometimes a snack. These support stations are all staffed by local area businesses. And they have fun! There have been people dressed up in all kinds of crazy costumes, including an aid station where they were giving out fruit snacks and dressed as Marvel characters.

The race has been well organized since the beginning. Communication is good, and the after party in 2018 was really great.

The medal has gotten better since 2016, it's not amazing, but it's fun.

If you need a big expo, you're not going to find it here. Bib pickup is at a local running store, where you're welcome to shop, but you're not going to get any additional vendors.

Over all, it's well organized, the after party is fun, the scenery is pretty, but the hills suck.
