Unfortunately the 2020 Freep was switched to a virtual option only, but race staff poured their hearts into this event making the virtual option a huge success. Very well organized, great communication, and race packets with awesome swag delivered in plenty of time for race day.

There is also an awesome Facebook community of FreeP runners who are there to help support, encourage and cheer each other along. This community of FreeP runners and event staff continue to keep the group active all year long. The activity on this page ranges from virtual book club meet ups/discussions, running questions/advice, encouragement and need to know information for a successful race.

If the FreeP is a race you are considering running, be sure to add it to your list. The in person event is most definitely a must do and the virtual event isn't far behind.

Some important take aways were that after registration I felt I received all the important information that I needed to successfully complete my race. Like when packets would be mailed, when and where to run, treadmill/trail running was acceptable, and further information regarding logging results, checking the leaderboard, how to upload photos, and a virtual post race party would be available.

So if you’re looking for a race with some sweet swag give this race a try.
