Great organization, Expo & support throughout the course. Me & my fiancee had a fun time shopping all the vendors during the expo & 40th anniversary party. During the Race, I felt good with my pace up until i got to the Hills on mile 9 & 10. After that, i lost a lot of my momentum. I’ll try to be better prepared next time. The only issue i had with the race was whenever i finished & was in the recovery area with all the other runners, the food options were limited. They had your basic recovery fuel (fruit, water, juice, granola bars, & even a couple beer trucks) but no options that provide protein. it wasn’t until about an hour later that i saw Kind was handing out protein bars instead of the regular ones that i got after i finished.

Had a fun time in Tulsa with this race. The expo was in a different location than where they had the starting line. Had a great start to the race. there was a few areas to where they had construction along the course but still had some beautiful sights to see. Two issues: 1) i had finished the race, & the restrooms were outside the finishers area, whenever i tried to go back into the area for the food, i wasnt allowed back in. Also, you had to pay for a finishers shirt. normally this would come with your registration after you finished but this wasn’t available. we still got our registration jacket and medal.

Happy that i got to participate in the OKC Memorial! Event with the wet & cold weather, i was still able to finish faster than i predicted. Amazing support throughout the race. I would like to see at the start that the corrals be broken up & release at different times instead of everyone going at once. Looking forward to getting a new PR whenever i run the half again in 2018
