If you're looking for a good challenge leading up the the TCS NYC Marathon - this race is for you! The course took us around the 6-mile Central Park loop 3 times, so yes, you tackle the infamous Harlem Hill and Cat Hill three times. I heard many people say that if you can get through this race and up the Central Park hills, you will be quite prepared to handle the marathon. I definitely believe it! All my NYRR experiences have been great - they're very well organized and staffed. The Gatorade gel on the course was gone by the time we were on the third loop (Which I guess was to be expected? Though the race had just under 5K participants), but other than that minor detail, I'd highly recommend this race to anyone running NYC.
