I had signed up for the half-marathon, but had to drop to the 5k at the last minute. That was an easy fix. The location was really nice at a resort that had a Dirty Dancing Vibe, but made it easy to use the facilities (dinner/pool) as everything was close by. Most rooms had a gorgeous view of the lake. I also had a jacuzzi tub in my room, which was great for night before race. The 5k was run on the grounds of the resort golf course. Mostly it was paved, but there were a few gravel areas that were kind of dicey. It was somewhat hilly in a rolling golf course type of way. We started early enough that we still had some shade, but it was still a humid day. One aid station on course, but it was at about the 2.5 mark, which is a little late in a 5k.

Expo was small and had the typical vendors: essential oils/bondi bands/fellow flowers and a few others. The shirts for the race were really nice. Soft and easily wearable for stuff other than running. Race was small, but still did awards for age group and overall so that was nice. They had Momentum jewelry freebie which was nice surprise, plus post massages and a free drink. Breakfast/lunch was neither really since it was mostly cookies/bagels and fruit.

Overall would recommend for the nice freebies and pretty location.

I ran the half-marathon in 2017 and the 4 mile run in 2018. I volunteered at both runs. The management team improved the aid stations to every 1.5 miles in 2018 over the previous year. Which is great since it is a challenging course for a midpack runner like myself. Lots of hills and a long stretch of uncovered sunny road. The cheer team is great on course, as they place several folks along the way to keep you motivated. Swag is good and there is an option for upgrades. More than half of course is on city streets, but they have it marked well and seemed safe. There is a portion that is on a paved bike trail. Beautiful scenery for the most part and ending/finishing on the lake is pretty.
