This being my first race ever, I wasn't really sure what to expect. This was the race that made me fall in love with the thrill of the run. Looking back now, I understand what an expo is supposed to look like, what good SWAG is, and how races are supposed to be set up. This race is an awesome race for the local community. It's not too big, not too small, and runs throughout Evansville, Indiana. You get changes in neighborhoods, parks, and you finish along the Ohio River, which is really pretty. There were plenty of aid stations and plenty of pre race parking that is free along city streets. The expo is extremely limited and more of a check in for your shirt type scenario. That being said, they have this tradition where they give you a 5 gallon bucket full of goodies, your race bib, and t shirt. What's really cool is the bucket has the race logo and year on the side, so all of that makes up for where the expo lacks. If you're looking for a fun smaller race, this is a really good choice. Especially if you're new to running!

Disney Magic is a real thing! For my first ever marathon and my 2nd ever half marathon, I decided it would be a good idea to run both of them in back to back days at Disney World. I had never been to Disney World, so we went a few days early so we could go to 3 of the 4 parks and the race expo... before the races. The day after the half marathon, I was so sore and my legs were so tired at about mile 6 of the marathon, that I honestly did not believe I would finish. That was until I took a picture with Buzz Lightyear, followed by the next mile having trampoline jumpers along the highway, OH and WAIT! there's Mr. Incredible, and am I actually in the castle at Magic Kingdom!? It took me just under 5 hours to finish that Marathon and it was still a dream come true. The course itself felt long between parks, especially going up and down exit ramps, but I would run those highways if they were even longer just to get to the next Disney park. The course itself obviously had plenty of scenery and entertainment, but it also had plenty of water, food, and aid stations as well. The expo was massive and had all of the big names there to give you more free samples than I've ever gotten at any race before. When running both races you also receive all of the shirts, SWAG, and medals from both the half marathon, full marathon, and the Goofy challenge. The race itself is expensive, but you get a lot for your money. That doesn't include the cost of food, travel, and hotel... but it is definitely a bucket list run.
