This race is huge!!! So many runners, but the race is so well organized, you wouldn't know you were among 40-50 thousand other runners.
The scenery of Boulder is gorgeous. There is always something new around every corner..... bands, singing Elvis, belly dancers, drum circles, slip-n-slides, trampolines..... never a dull moment. The course has some gradual hills, but just as many downhills. The small hill before the finish is most noticeable, but then you go downhill into the stadium for an unforgettable finish with thousands cheering you on.
The post race expo is PACKED....best to hit the expo at the mall during the weekend.
Also, purchase parking at the stadium early. I recommend finish area parking, but start line parking isn't bad.

A well organized race. Race is flat and the swim is in a pool. The scenery isn't great (it's Kansas), but it's still fun. The race can be hot....drink water! The bike portion is multiple loops around Carey Park....keep count of your laps! If it's windy, which it usually is, the bike leg can be rough.

The Spring Prarie Fire 5k is flat and fast. Expect to run a PR.
The only thing that didn't appeal to me was the scenery....but afterall, it is Kansas.....and downtown Wichita.
The expo isn't huge, but I found some good deals on products.
Packet pickup was simple and well organized. For such a large race. Packet picked up in 5 minutes.
The course was well marked and volunteers everywhere!
