This race was my first 10k and it was perfect for me. It was held at Presque Isle State Park in Erie, PA and I live and train where the race took place so I might be a little biased. The entire race from check-in to the finish line went smoothly for me but I already knew the route, where I was going to park, and where packet pickup was so that might have enhanced my experience.

ERC events are always well organized with wonderful volunteers. The race director is great and people driving through the park during race time are usually courteous and respectful to the runners. The shirt is super cute and we were offered snacks, water, and I think hot chocolate in the Pavillion after the race. There are finish line photos posted on the Facebook events page which I greatly appreciate because the photo includes your finish time and it's a great keepsake to have. There were awards as well but I didn't stick around for them.

It was a small race for both participants and spectators which I enjoyed for my first 10k. The weather in mid-March around here is as unpredictable as you can get so we got lucky with just kind of freezing temps and sunshine. The course is mostly a loop but the last .5 mile or so extends beyond the starting point before you turn back. That was the hardest stretch for me.

Overall, I really enjoyed this race and will be running again next year.
