This is a very small community race without any bells and whistles. No medals. No expo. Just a timed run with a couple water stations and some snacks at the end. It's also dirt cheap, so it's worth it. Parking is streetside so get there early to get a decent spot.

Word of warning - some of the running clubs for the local elementary kids run the 5k so it is PACKED with kids.

This small race starts just two blocks from scenic Main Street Grapevine, just outside the prestigious Grapevine Rec. Despite the historic downtown and beautiful Grapevine Lake just minutes away, this race takes you away from them and puts you behind warehouses. Yes! If you'd like to see the backs of Grapevine's many warehouses this is the race for you. You can also see the backs of car dealerships and the backs of residential houses! You might be able to see airplanes approach for landing at DFW airport - except that the sun is directly behind the planes. The course is mostly on streets, with a portion on a paved trail.

The shirts are gendered and appropriately sized.

The expo is several blocks away from the finish at a local brewery. You get beer after you finish. (I didn't try it as I'm not a beer person.) There's also a grab bag with a banana, granola bars, and skittles.

I recommend skipping this one - the races put on by the Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers are much better.

Great small race put on by a local club. The course goes by Lake Grapevine, so the wind off the lake can be very chilly. Expo only has a few vendors - a running store or two plus a few other health stores. Swag is a pair of gloves, no medal or shirt. Main parking lot is only two minutes away, get there early if you don't want to walk farther.

Very crowded race! Some confusion over the 5k course - halfway through the crowd the organizers rerouted the runners so the second half were going the opposite direction on a loop. As a result the runners were going straight at each other through the loop. Course ended up being .1 miles short if you were in the first half of the runners.

Lots of snacks and beer at the finish, plus plenty of tables to recover. It was VERY windy so many people skipped.
