The Back on My Feet Relay Marathon is a fun, worthwhile, well run event that takes place at White River State Park. Members from all over the Indianapolis running community as well as some out of towners and out of staters gather on the bridge at White River to run a marathon on their own or as part of a 2 - 6 person team. The course starts on the bridge between White River and the Indianapolis Zoo, then leads to the path behind the Zoo with a right turn over the bridge at New York Street, then along the path behind Carroll Stadium, NIFS and the NCAA Museum looping back to the bridge over the White River. The loop is 2.2 miles. It is a fun, festive atmosphere on the bridge as you begin and finish each loop with teams cheering on their respective runners. Best thing about the race is that it benefits Back on My Feet Indianapolis who works with men and women experiencing homelessness, using running along with partners in the community, to get them back towards independence and self sufficiency.
