How do you survive a January race in Chicago? With a warm start in the United Club at Soldier Field! The F3 team created the perfect situation for a fun freezing race in Chicago by staging the runners just inside the start line. Granted, we got super lucky this year with a nice sunny day, but if it was 10 below, it still would have been a tolerable experience in the freezing cold. After we were all shuttled outside, we had a quick start and we were off! The course was well marked, well staffed, and cleared of ice. The start was staged in corrals so we were not crowded at any point in the race. Afterwards we warmed up once again inside the United Club, took advantage of the ample bathrooms to change, and headed the short distance to the post race party. I highly recommend getting in on the fun of a January race in Chicago with the F3 Half Marathon!
