I have only ever had good experiences with any of the Akron Marathon races, and this race is no exception! The race is well managed and organized from parking to the finish line party. One of my favorite things about the race is the Swenson burgers waiting for you at the end! The overall race atmosphere is great and I would highly recommend this race to any interested.

The overall race experience was fine. Everything was well organized, the parking, the swag, and aid stations were all satisfactory. The only reason I would not recommend this race is because of the course. I was expecting the race course to be through the beautiful town of Athens, Ohio, the OU campus, and surrounding areas, but instead it was almost entirely run on a paved running path. The greenery was pretty and would have been a nice part of the course if it were only a couple miles worth, rather than the majority of the race. This made the race feel pretty boring. If they were to change the course to be more diverse in scenery, then I would definitely recommend this race to others.

This race is run entirely on the beautiful Towpath in Cleveland, Ohio. If you enjoy running on paths, or if you're looking for a change of scenery from the usual road race, this is a great race. The race is always well organized and put together. Same day packet pick up is available which is always appreciated for busy moms like me! Overall a good race run by great people for a good cause!

This race was so much fun!! It was by far the toughest half marathon race course I've ever run, but the gorgeous countryside scenery, unique local support from the Amish community and fun (and delicious) race swag made this a race to remember!!

It was such a unique experience to have the local Amish and Mennonite communities out along the course to watch with smiling faces and help pass out water! I've never been in a race where I was frequently passed by a horse and buggy but it was great. Before the race donuts from a local bakery were out for runners to enjoy (for free) and part of the race swag included a fake amish beard and straw hat. Again, another way to make this a fun and unique experience. Post Race perks included a wide variety of homemade food. Because this is a November race it's nice that they consider having a warm place to wait for the race to start as well as to hang out and relax afterwards by opening up the local school for runners and spectators.

I cannot think of a single negative comment to be made about this race and the organizers, it was an all around very positive experience and my favorite race to date! I hope to be back in the future!

The race made for a fun Sunday morning! It was a nice, small, local race that was well organized and well priced. Running on the towpath made for nice scenery, even in the middle of November. My only suggestion to the race director would be to have one more bathroom option along the course. There were A LOT of runners who were darting into the woods because there were no other options until close to mile 8!
