Great race. Managment on par with major races. Fantstic pre race communication. Moderate hills--with gorgeous mountain views. Picked up packet at local Road Runner--this was a nice option not having to travel to Apache Junction. Ran with a pacer--she was fantastic. Post race food location could be better identified. It was not located at the end of the finish.

Ran for the first time in 2017. This race really caters to the half marathoner. The back half seems to be thrown in. The first half ran on various surfaces: cement, dirt, pavement and cobblestone. There is a contrast from the first half and last half in terms of spectators, runner support and surface. A small town race offered many amenities but bundled quality 1/4 zip with all of the races run Finish line was disappointing--the medal was neat (part of a three year series) but I ws left on my own to find the food and drinks. 3 stars.
