When I made the decision to run my first Marathon this year I tried getting into Chicago, since I live close by. When I didn't have my name drawn in the lottery I remembered I had seen information on the Route 66 marathon and remembered the awesome medal. I went looking for their webpage and when I saw how well they treat first timers I knew I had to do Williams Route 66! I loved everything about it. It was for sure a tough course for me with all the hills, but my mind had been set! What a great party if you chose to imbibe. Since this was my first I bypassed all the alcohol and ran my race, but I smiled most of the time. If you are thinking about doing your first marathon make it the Williams Route 66! I am so proud of the medal I earned that day and it is that much more special because it is printed on the medal and ribbon, "My First Marathon". It was a perfect day to run 2017!
