I am a huge Rocky Fan so this was awesome. I tried to channel his tenacity during the race!

The expo is located on Boat House Row and it's meh. Just a simple bin pickup and the shirt is just a t-shirt (a cool t-shirt, but I've seen better swag).

Racemorning was FREEZING but that didn't stop the runners from showing up in all sorts of great rocky gear ready to run. The race starts and finishes at The Philadelphia Museum of Art which is pretty awesome.

The course takes you up and back around the river and did get a little crowded at times. Note, there are 2 GIANT HILLS. Train hills if you're going to do this race, I noticed a few people get hurt :-/

Once you make it through the hills it's smooth sailing for the last few miles. The crowd at the end is great and the photo op by the Rocky Statue is a must!

Overall, if you live in Philly you've got to at least try this race!

This was my first half marathon and oh my goodness I was SO nervous.

Race packet pick up was great and the expo was amazing. It had great swag and easy to get through.

Race day corrals were easily marked and the music was bumpin. The air was electric as you start right at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The race goes through the city, around Fairmount and around the Shyukill River. It's scenic and mostly flat - which was great! There were runners and walkers, groups and solo runners like myself.

Note the finish line is at the top of a big hill, but the crowd cheers you on in the last leg. At the finish line there's water and photo stations but all I really remember was finding my family and giving them a BIG HUG because I was so happy to have completed the 13+ miles.

Overall, I loved this race and will 100% be back next year.

This race is awesome. All skill levels are welcome and it's such a cool way to see Philadelphia. The crowd is cheering you on the whole time and the energy is electric. The expo was great and even the finish line had really great stations to check out. Overall I'd give this a 9.5 out of 10.

Personally I just love this race because it was my first 10 miler. It's such a great accomplishment and as a novice runner I felt welcome and easily figured it out. It's a HUGE RACE with a ton of people but that's what makes it so memorable. If you're considering this race - I would say GO FOR IT! :-)
