I had the opportunity to run this race a second time after winning a contest. I was broken during the training process (knee injury) and was literally in tears thinking I wouldn't be able to participate in this again. I put a lot of time and energy into rehabbing for this but ultimately only trained on the road for 12 miles 3 months prior to this race. I made a last minute race to try it anyway, knowing and having experienced the awesome crowd support when I previously ran this race in 2015. I'm so glad I did! The crowds were incredible as usual and make 50, 000 runners feel like total rock stars. The logistics getting to the race can be trying, but considering the number of people that run this, it is a well oiled machine! I love, love, love this race and have nothing but good things to say about it!! Bucket list for sure!
